GTX TITAN Z

Introducing the new GPU from Nvidia: GTX TITAN Z

Few weeks ago, Nvidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huang unveiled the GeForce GTX TITAN Z today at their annual GPU Technology Conference in order to continue the Titan Legacy of supercomputer-inspired performance.

Built around two Kepler GPUs and 12GB of dedicated frame buffer memory, TITAN Z is engineered for next-generation 5K and multi-monitor gaming. ith two GK110 chips, TITAN Z is powered by a total of 5,760 processing cores, or 2,880 cores per GPU .

“If you’re in desperate need of a supercomputer that you can fit under your desk, we have just the card for you,” Jen-Hsun said. Unlike traditional dual-GPU cards, Titan Z’s twin GPUs are tuned to run at the same clock speed, and with dynamic power balancing. So neither GPU creates a performance bottleneck.

And that performance is delivered in a card that is cool and quiet, rather than hot and loud. Low-profile components and ducted baseplate channels minimize turbulence and improves acoustic quality.

So if you want to build the ultimate ultra-high definition gaming rig that can harness the power of quad GPUs working in tandem, TITAN Z is the perfect graphics card.

Overall view and opinion

This is the most powerful yet fastest graphic card ever produced by NVIDIA. The main point of creating this GPU is to play videos or games in full 4k surround and to support 5k surround in the future. ON the other hand, this gpu can eat up to 3 PCI-e slots on user's motherboard and it is expensive which is selling at $3000 (RM 9000 ++).

Asus Maximus VII Ranger

ASUS' Republic of Gamers range has a new member of the family with this new generation. Next to the already known Impact (Mini-ITX) , Gene (Micro-ATX), Hero (ATX, aimed at gamers), Formula (ATX, aimed at case modders)and Extreme (ATX, aimed at overclockers)
the Ranger is introduced. The Ranger is also aimed at gamers, but at a cheaper price and positioned under the Hero models. It is basically ASUS answer to the cheaper gaming boards produced by ASRock, Gigabyte and MSI that were quite successful in the previous generation. The new Formula and Extreme models have not been introduced yet, these are coming in June and will be presented at the Computex, together with the new Devil's Canyon processors.

Asus Maximus VII Ranger review by Vortez

Back to the Ranger, a cheaper gaming motherboard, but still in the typical red and black RoG colour scheme, including the newly designed heatsinks. The ranger looks a bit bare but it is not an ugly motherboard. the board has three PCI-Express x16 slots and three PCI-Express x1 slots. The usual creative solutions with lanes has been applied, the first two are fed by the CPU's 16 lanes, the third by the four lanes provided by the chipset. These four again are shared lanes, they have to share with the first and second PCI-Express x1 slots and the M.2 slot.

An M.2-slot for a PCI-Express SSD is present, and we find the six SATA 600 ports that are available through the chipset. USB 3.0 and 2.0 both have 6 ports available.
The onboard SupremeFX sound card is based on a Realtek ALC1150 codec, met bespoke drivers that offer, among other things, DTS Connect. ASUS' Sonic Radar software is also part of the drivers, producing a visual radar screen overlay where other players are based on the sounds of the game. The Soundstage button on the motherboard switches between several equalizer and sound effects within the drivers. As mentioned before this is a nice gimmick but we do not find it overly useful. The sound quality of the SurpremeFX solution and headphone connection are excellent
ASUS again chooses for an Intel network chip, as they say that this performs better than a Killer chip. We have never been able to prove differences in actual performance between the chips, but the quality of the Intel chip is very good. The other advantage of the Killer chip, QoS possibilities and smart drivers, are compensated by ASUS' bespoke drivers offering the same possibilities for the Intel chip.
The board has an 8 phase power supply for the CPU and five 4-pin internal fan headers. The additional features are limited, there is an onboard power button, a mem-OK button, a HEX-display and BIOS Flashback button. In Windows Asus provides software to turn any keyboard into a "gaming keyboard", which basically is nothing else than the ability of assigning macros to function keys. A clever and handy feature, but it remains a software solution and not a hardware based one.
The Ranger's BIOS is, as with all the other RoG boards, set in a red colour scheme. The board is not specifically aimed at overclocking, but there are enough possibilities should you want to.

Specification of the Maximus VII Ranger

What's special about it?

The Asus Maximus VII Ranger provide a new function to user which is the KeyBot . The Keybot enable user to customize their function keys from F1-F10 on the keyboard to set the shortcut of it to bring up the application like mail, browsing or multimedia function. Meanwhile the F11 to boost up user's cpu and the F12 to enable extreme memory profiles ( These functions can be seen at the link here . ) . It is easy to use as user can just plug in the keyboard via dedicated USB socket to active the exculsive KeyBot and assign the shortcut to the function keys.

Samsung Galaxy K

Worth of buying?

Samsung Galaxy K Zoom is a new 'super-camera-phone' after the previous release of Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom and it is the successor of it. However, the Galaxy K Zoom has not released world-wide yet and has only launched in certain markets. There is no word on when or if it will be available everywhere, but it’s already gone on sale across the pond in the UK.

Take a look at the review of Samsung Galaxy K Zoom

Samsung Galaxy K Zoom has a more enhanced camera zoom option. It also has optical zoom, which means the lens physically zooms in and out. The availability of this device has obvious advantages and disadvantages, like the added bulk and much better camera sensor. The device has 4.8-inch 720P super AMOLED display , 2GB of RAM with a hexa-core Exynos processor . The camera has the 10x optical zoom accompanied with 20.7MP and a Xenon flash.

My Opinion

In my opinion this is a good phone but the size of the phone is hard to be place in a pocket due to the wedge design of the phone. Besides that, the weight of the 200g and it is pretty heavy. So I think this phone isn't worth to buy due to it high end camera which you can have it way better by buying a DSLR or a digital camera. Besides, it only have 1GB of RAM in which I don't think it can process a good quality image taken by it's camera in a short time.

OnePlus One the 2014 flagship killer

OnePlus is a brand new phone company from China has reviewed it's first phone the OnePlus One. So far, this is the first phone with high specifications and a more powerful one compared to Samsung Galaxy S5 or HTC One M8. The OnePlus One phone will be sell at the price of $300 (RM 970 ++) and price is about half of the price of Samsung Galaxy S5 or HTC One M8! Majority of the phone specifications have been reviewed by the phone company itself on the internet and this phone is currently the hot topic for phone geeks.

The OnePlus One phone comes with the latest version of CyanogenMod11 pre-installed in it. Besides that, the OnePlus One phone uses the brand new quad processor, Qualcomm Snapdragon801 with a backup of 3GB RAM and 3100 mAh battery. The company also mentioned that they will sell this phone in the range of $300 to $400 in which 16GB for $300 (RM 970 ++) while 64GB for $350 (RM 1140 ++).This phone only comes in two colours and the colour of the phone decide the storage of the phone, Silk White (16GB) and Sandstone Black (64GB). The design of the phone is somehow same like the google nexus that only have two physical button the lockscreen button on the left and the volume rocker button on the right.
